What's the best business in GTA V online?

Main Post:

I'm New to the GTA and i pretty much don't know anything about business. I somehow managed to grind and get the autoshop, but I don't think its payments are good enough.

The nightclub is the best passive business because you literally need to do nothing but it is also the most expensive because you need to get a bunker and MC businesses and a hanger or CEO crate warehouse, then buy the nightclub, buy the storage, buy the technicians. probably gonna be upwards of $10 million but it is the best business in the game but if you want one to start out with I would get the bunker and save up for the Chumash bunker which is the best one. then go to invite only lobbies (story mode-online-play gtaonline-invite only)and do your bunker business. don't buy supplies until you have one of the staff/equipment upgrades.

Red V-Raptor sensor and honesty in business

Main Post:

It is always the same company with the hassle....

CEO interview : https://www.fdtimes.com/pdfs/free/111FDTimes-150-Nov2021.pdf

So yes, it is a brand new sensor. It also has PDAF Autofocus pixels. But the biggest advantage is the read-reset speed, which givesyou the higher frame rates and reduces rolling shutter artifacts. You get the benefit of greater dynamic range, which we couldn’t do with KOMODO (also no dynamic range slouch given it is a global shutter camera). So the real issue of global shutter versus rolling shutter, besides the flashes, is the skewing and bending of fast-moving objects. Making RAPTOR read out twice as fast as MONSTRO reduces those artifacts tremendously

But then:

https://www.reduser.net/forum/red-cameras/raptor/3772466-flare-or-high-contrast-causes-sensor-split-glitch

saw some social media posts about people seeing a line in the middle of the image and one side having a slight color/brightness shift under certain circumstances.

I didn't realize the raptor sensor is two sensors glued together, like alexa LF.

I did some tests and I can see the image problem they were describing.

If you have a bright flare or strong direct light only on one side of the frame, you get a darkened vertical line directly in the center of the image, from top to bottom, and there will be a slight brightness/hue shift at this seam in the middle on one half. its like the image blend they are doing between the two sensor halfs breaks under certain lighting conditions.

easy to test, use a wide with the focus thrown and shine a light. Didn't matter for me RF or PL lens - you can even see it with no lens at all - so its not optics, its electronic. Resolution format, frame rate, shutter speed, compression - no effect, all produce the error. I see it on the sdi feed and in the r3d, full resolution, new debayer v 54, or old. camera was shaded and all green

if your shooting something with flares or big shifts in brightness on different sides of the frame you might want to wait until this is fixed. Sensor stitching probably done in the camera so I think once its in the r3d, its in there.

hope its just a firmware update to fix the processing and not a hardware fix and have to send the cameras back. don't shoot the messenger

If you are selling 25 000 dollar camera body, maybe disclose facts and not try hide them... Until you get caught because your engineers suck.

Just got a RS1221RP+ and installed the DSM software (7.0.1).Installed Active Backup for Business, and it can connect to my ESXi hypervisors and to HyperV 2016.It cannot connect to HyperV 2012 R2. It says it is unsupported. What are my options?

Regards.

Upgrade to HyperV 2016

2012r2 EoL is 10/10/23, so anything you do now is going to be resolved by that forced upgrade.

Synology Backup for Business and Hyper-V Server

Main Post:

What exactly is the advantage of backing up Windows Hyper-V servers with Synology Backup for Business?

We have a customer where some server systems (on Hyper-V) need to be backed up temporarily (for 2-3 months) for stabilisation purposes. Some of the Hyper-V servers (hypervisors) are on Windows Hyper-V Server 2012, which afaik is not officially supported. Can I still back up the individual VMs with Synology? Or is there a workaround to back up Windows Hyper-V 2012 servers?

Top Comment:

There is a difference between not supported and not working.

No company will officially support an OS that is no longer supported by the OS supplier. How could they? So that kind of support is pulled first.

https://kb.synology.com/en-global/DSM/help/ActiveBackup/activebackup_business_requireandlimit?version=7

So simply try if you can backup hyper-v 2012 environment.

https://kb.synology.com/en-us/DSM/help/ActiveBackup/activebackup_business_virtualmachine_backup_hyperv?version=7

For any customer it should be a sign on the wall that an OS is no longer supported, having a possible impact also on other products intended to do sonething with the hyperv environment or the vm's running on top of it.

You should always be able to backup the vm's, assuming those do run a supported os version? Wpuld however mean, yod have to have something available to do a restore towards, booting from recovery media and restore the vm. Which then is likely that thisbcould be done on pretty much any hypervisor as long as the bootable rescue image has drivers to deal with any presented disk device and possibly other devices. So if you'd manually rebuild a hyperv host, it should already work, but that then requires way more manual tasks before being able to have a working vm again.

I'd say test it with hyperv 2012 but also advise the customer to get into supported territory if they actually value their data and services. You can be somewhat behind (we've all been there one way or another), but it should not be on purpose and hence should be acted upon. Dealing with slightly older OS'es on vm's is often easier to work around than a hypervisor that is (too) old, as then at least often you'd still be able to male backups even though it might only be crashconsistent at best.
